You don’t have to settle for Urinary Leakage

It may be common, but it is not normal. Pelvic PT can help to prevent and treat urinary leakage.

Although many women like you also experience leakage, there is treatment available to fix this so we do not consider it “normal”.

Stress incontinence is when you leak during a movement or activity like coughing, running, jumping, laughing, sneezing, or lifting.

Urge incontinence is when you leak because you just can’t quite make it to the bathroom in time. This is often accompanied by “triggers” such as hearing running water, putting the key in the door, or even just seeing a bathroom sign. This is also not normal and there are treatment options available! Being able to hold urine for 2-5 hours on average is considered normal and healthy.

Regardless of your symptoms, if it is interfering with your life, talk to one of our physical therapists to come up with a plan. This is a relatively easy thing to fix. We can teach you how to treat this on your own, and/or work with you in person to create a custom program.
